02 Apr Row, Row, Row Your Boat
Ok so, after the Zoom meeting I volunteered to write a post for this website and so here it is.
It’s about the time that the CDETB group went on a rowing trip to Chapelizod where the Dublin City Municipal Centre is. It was all organised by Dublin City Sports and Wellbeing Partnership.
We got 2 buses from the college in Raheny and then back again. When we got there we met the people who were going to show us how to row. First they gave a health & safety talk and made everyone put on a life-jacket. They promised us that we wouldn’t fall into the Liffey as it was really polluted. Obviously some of the the students were still a bit nervous at the start but all the sport officers there were very friendly and encouraged us all to take part.
So we took turns and got into the rowing boats. They showed us what to do in the boat and how to row properly. There was 4 of us in one boat and 2 in the other. The CDETB staff that went with on the day were Eoin, Kay and Donal. I went into a two seater rowing boat and after some instructions I quickly got it.
It was a good day and we all loved it so we would love to do it again.
Thanks to Nuala for helping organise it.
